Georgian 1/4 Pint Silver Christening Mug David Mowden
Sweet and unusual Georgian silver christening mug of classic baluster round bellied form with stepped collet foot and double scroll handle with cast acanthus leaf thumb rest. Nice monogram to the front for IS or JS. Hallmarked for London 1765 maker David Mowden. Initials A.S are also lightly engraved on the base.
It measures 7.5cm (3") high, 7.5cm (3") rim to handle and 5.5cm (2 1/4") wide. It weighs 93g/3ozt and has a capacity of 1/4 pint. Condition is very good there has been a small and neat repair where the handle joins the body near the rim. No damage or dents and light surface wear appropriate for age. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
