6 x Austro-Hungarian Empire Silver Gilt Teaspoons

This is a superb quality set of 6 Viennese Silver Gilt teaspoons from the Austro-Hungarian Empire period. The spoons were made in Vienna by silversmith and jeweller Franz Feuchtner. He was active between 1882 and 1915, so the set of spoons falls within that date range. The Austro-Hungarian Empire (or Austria-Hungary Dual Monarchy) was the successor to the Austrian Empire and lasted from 1867 until 1918.
The spoons are beautifully made with a hexagonal lozenge where the stem joins the bowl. Above this is a twisted stem and the finial is in the shape of a deer's foot or hoof. The set of spoons are in 800 grade silver with all-over gilding for a truly luxurious finish. Perfectly suitable for use today, they would also make a fine addition to any collection.
Condition is generally very good with just one spoon having some surface scratching in the bowl and a little of the gilt has rubbed off, probably the result of somebody's over zealous cleaning at some point in the past. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The spoons are each 11.5cm / 4.5" long and the set of 6 together weighs in at a respectable 58.8g / 2.07oz.
The marks on the underside of the bowls are the Austro-Hungarian Diana's head (Dianakopf) cartouche for silver which also contains the number 3 representing 800 / 1000 grade silver and the letter "A" showing that it was assayed in Vienna. On the other side is the FF mark for Franz Feuchtner. One spoon has the "Dog's Head" mark, also with a number 3 and letter "A," in place of the Diana mark. This has the same meaning but was specifically used on small items whereas the Diana mark could be used on any size item.
