5 x Late 19th C. Silver Buttons, c.1890-1900
This is a charming Set of Five Late 19th Century Sterling Silver Buttons. The buttons are circular with a beaded rim and feature an embossed design of a dancing couple in 18th century costume.
The buttons are continental in origin, most probably French, and were imported into Britain at the end of the 19th century. There is no makers' mark or importers' mark that we can find.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each button is 2cm in diameter and the set of five weighs in at a respectable 12.9g of solid Sterling Silver.
The buttons are hallmarked with the lion passant for Sterling Silver and the letter F for foreign, showing that they are imports. This F mark ceased to be used in 1904, so the buttons are definitely older than that.
Shipping in the UK is £5 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
