An enchanting 1940s sterling silver handbag mirror compact. This powder compact is suitable for use with loose face powder. It originates from Siam and the lid is typical for this genre - a dancing girl set atop in low relief. All clasps and hinges work exactly as they should. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The compact is in good condition with a lovely deep patina. The base bears the maker's mark 'MDA'. Measures 3" and weighs 64.3 grams.
