Reynolds of Ludlow
Reynolds of Ludlow founded by Arthur Basil Reynolds in Ludlow in 1946. The original company name being Reynolds Woodware Limited.
Arthur Reynolds was taught his cabinet making skills in an environment influenced by the Arts and Crafts principles, which he chose to follow. Arthur Reynolds’s design skills were learnt from Stanley Davis in Windmere and Paul Matt in Wales. He was his assistant for seven years between 1929 and 1936. His market aim was the middle to upper classes.
Arthur Reynolds died suddenly after a short illness in 1960, his son Garth Reynolds took over the business and ran it till 1980 when the company closed due to a fire at the factory.
