Mdina Art Glass
Mdina Glass was founded on in the Maltese town of Mdina by Michael Harris in 1968 along with his friend Eric Dobson. The company produced free formed organic glassware and was a instant success with the tourists. Michael Harris left Mdina Glass in 1973 and the company carried on being run by Eric Dobson and an apprentice of Michael's, Joseph Said, using many of the designs created by Michael Harris. In 1985 Eric Dobson chose to relinquish control of Mdina Glass and return to the UK. Joseph Said took over and under his influence Madina Glass won the International Award for Tradition and Prestige in Brussels. Joseph Said’s children Olivia, Nevise, Pamela and Alan now form an integral part of the company, which employs around 50 people
