Clarice Cliff, 20 January 1899 – 23 October 1972.
Ceramic artist, active from 1922 to 1963.
At 13, Clarice joined 'The Potteries' workforce, later working at AJ Wilkinson's pottery factory until 1964. The factory continued producing pottery under her name, featuring popular patterns like Bizarre, Crocus, and Gayday. Recognised in the mid-'90s, Cliff's status as a major artist was affirmed in the Dictionary of Art by Macmillan Publishers, solidifying her place in international reference works
