This is a wonderful early Victorian papier mache tray by Jennens and Bettridge of London and Birmingham (Impressed mark). We believe the Regency style table base is contemporary to the tray and probably made to order. So much better as the trays are not always easy to use or display. There are only one or two old repairs to the edges of the tray and these have been well coloured in and are not obvious because the rest of the tray is so busy. Overall the condition is excellent for it's age. The table base is painted green and lined with gold, this too is in great condition, also benefiting from it's twofold positioning. A superb piece of antique decorative antique furniture.
