A charming Art Deco hallmarked silver compact mirror made by William Neale & Sons. This vanity is an ideal handbag mirror, as well as being suitable for pans of face powder measuring 45 mm diameter. The lid has a smart engine turned design which contrasts with the smooth silver from which the rest of the piece is crafted. The hinge and catch work perfectly. The mirror gives a very good reflection. The vermeil powder well is delightful.

This antique vanity is in good condition. It has been loved and used and it has three dings. The location of the dings mean that they do not detract, as they are on the outer edge and so they are not that obvious. However, this is reflected in the price.

The compact comes with an empty Houbigant powder pan measuring 45 mm diameter. The sterling silver compact measures just over 2 1/4" diameter and weighs 36.8 grams. An immaculate black velvet drawstring pouch comes with this item. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
