A super sleek wafer thin and supremely stylish sterling silver Art Deco compact mirror which was assayed at Birmingham in 1939. This elegant piece has the most wonderful engineering, it shuts soundlessly and it is just gorgeous! The compact is suitable for loose face powder. The sifter is pristine powder free and in excellent condition, as is the compact. The cartouche on the lid bears the initials J H A. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. As you can see from image six the mirror gives a good accurate reflection. There are some age related marks on the mirror which do not detract at all. Measures 2 3/4" and weighs 74.4 grams.
