Condition Report
The case is in good vintage condition with the usual signs of wear such as surface scratches and heavy tarnishing consistent with its 94 year age. However, the case is in very good order for its age, the case closes nicely and securely and no signs of any significant damage to the body of the case. There is a slight bend in the metal on one side but this is minor and does not affect the case’s mechanism. A really nice, clean example indeed.
This fine quality impressive silver vesta case was an impressive luxury accessory in 1920s England. This piece exudes the stylist characteristics of the Art Deco era, most notably the heavy hexagonal geometric form coupled with the engine turned texture and the strong vertical lines creating a stylish and superb piece of silver. This is a delightfully charming vintage matches case, a superb piece of English Art Deco silver. This vesta would make the perfect birthday, anniversary or valentine's gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself, a marvelous addition to your silver collection.
