Set of Four John Lias Silver Gilt Serving Spoons
This lovely set of four silver gilt dessert spoons are fully hallmarked on the backs of the bowls for London 1812, with what we believe is the maker's mark for John Lias. The spoons are lovely decorative items with engraved handles and moulded relief-work bowls. The spoons have a combined weight of approx. 250g (8ozt). They are contained within what we believe to be their original lined case.
Condition: Overall in very good condition with some wear consistent with age. There is some slight surface scratching and wear and the gilded finish is worn away in places. The maker's marks are rubbed. The case has some wear and damage consistent with age. The lid is a little warped and does not quite sit flush. The case is scratched, scuffed and worn, and the leather covering is lifting and cracked in places. There is also some cracking to the wood around the edges.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Spoons - 22.5cm long
Case - 25.5cm by 19cm. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
