This is a super and petite Antique Victorian Hand Painted Scent Bottle in the form of a Birds Egg, likely a Quail Egg. The Silver lined screw top is hallmarked with the makers mark of Sampson Mordan & Co. To the bottom of the scent bottle is the design number 20772 which is registered to James MacIntyre. The silver hallmarks also bear the Assay Office for London and the date letter for 1886.

It is in good condition but does exhibit some age-related wear, which includes some light crazing, but this is only noticeable on very close inspection through a magnifying glass and a little rubbing to the cap. It measures approximately 4.5cm from the top of the cap to bottom. There is also a lovely chain attached to the cap which is also in good condition. The cap is monogrammed with the initials EM.
