Pierre Laurel Art Deco Silvered Bronze Figure Pierre Laurel Art Deco Bronze %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Elegant Art Deco silvered bronze figure of a nude dancer with tambourine by Pierre Laurel c1925. Beautifully modelled figure captured in full movement with outstretched arms and raised leg. Supported on a stepped, cylindrical marble base. Signed Pierre Laurel in the bronze together with foundry mark for Marcel Guillemard and is numbered 98. Overall height is 50 cm (height of base is 13.5 cm and 10 cm in diameter). Overall maximum width is 30 cm and overall depth is 11 cm.
This figure is in overall excellent condition commensurate with age. Some tarnishing to the silvered finish in places and very minor surface abrasions. Very minor "fleabites" to marble base - more felt than seen. Figure solidly mounted to base. Please further images on our website as these form an important part of the description.

Pierre Laurel was a French sculptor active in the early 20th century. His signature is found on many well modelled and finely defined bronze and ivory figures – commonly of dancers in movement. Pierre Laurel is thought to be one of the pseudonyms used by Pierre Le Faguays.
