A fine cold painted bronze pheasant mounted on a marble desk stand or dish. The pheasant is of a good large size and is beautifully modelled and painted. The paintwork is in excellent condition with a few very minor losses. The piece does have a small repair to one of the legs which has been done very well. The bronze is not marked but would certainly have been made by one of the great Austrian manufacturers. The bronze is mounted on a marble base as a desk stand or tidy. The marble base has a wonderful colour and figuring and is in excellent condition. The whole has a great period look and a huge amount of decorative impact. C.1900.
