An unusual German silver table ornament of a figure of a cockatiel parrot, naturalistically modelled perching on a tree trunk. Fine definition to the modelling, the figure has hinged articulated wings and a removable head. Hanau silver marks to the base with the maker's mark for Gebruder Neumann, c.1910.

It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high, 6.5cm (2 1/2") deep and 4cm (1 1/2") wide. It weighs 136g/4.4ozt. Condition is very good the very tips of a couple of wing feathers have been nipped off and there is a tiny pin-prick hole to the lid behind it's right cheek. Light surface wear only, the marks are a little rubbed but fully legible. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
