A handsome antique Georgian mahogany fire screen with sliding panel upholstered in Art Nouveau style fabric dating from the early 19th Century. The rectangular mahogany frame has brass corners to the top and a drop shelf to the back and is supported by splayed feet. A very decorative item, ideal for blocking drafts or could even been used as a book/display stand.

Good colour and patina, with wear and marks commensurate with age. It is fairly solid sturdy, the panel has been newly reupholstered, a little frayed towards the bottom.
