Georgian Double Ended Silver Marrow Scoop Spoon
Nice quality Georgian silver double ended marrow scoop spoon. Hallmarked for London 1805, maker Solomon Hougham. It also has an attractive and intriguing set of crests engraved to the back of the bowl, a stylised letter F, a winged griffin in rampant pose and a raised fisted arm holding a crescent shaped weapon.
It measures 23.3cm (9 1/8")" long and weighs 39g/1.3ozt. Condition is very good with light and appropriate surface wear for age and use including a tiny 2mm slit at one side of the bowl by the heel which may be original. The hallmarks and engraved armorials are lovely and clear.
