George V Silver Jewellery Dressing Table Box
Stylish rectangular silver dressing table box with curved corners and stepped curved lid set on 4 cabriole shaped legs. Velvet lined inside with a gilded finish inside the lid. The lid has an attractive engraved decoration within a shield shape of a stylised ship on the sea with flags including a rampant lion. Hallmarked for London 1927, makers Robert Pringle & Sons.
It measures 11cm (4 1/4") wide, 7.5cm (3") deep and 6.7cm (2 5/8") high. It weighs 247g/8.0ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repair. The legs have been reshaped slightly as is often the case and the box stands well. Surface wear is light with a very slight rubbing to the hallmarks. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
