George III Pierced Silver & Glass Sugar Basket.
Pretty little 18th century silver sugar basket set on a pedestal base with a raised shaped swing handle. The foot and body have pierced and embossed decoration, with beaded rims and it is fitted with a blue glass liner. Hallmarked for London 1776, maker's mark partly obscured by the decoration but I believe it is that of James Young.
It measures 13.5cm (5 1/4") high with the handle up, 8.5cm (3 3/8") high to the rim and 7.5cm (3") rim to rim, 8.5cm (3 3/8") across the handle. The total weight is 218g and silver weight is 110g/3.5ozt. Condition is excellent with no damage, dents or repairs and surface wear is very light. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
