Very nice early Georgian silver loving cup with gilt wash interior and later embossed and engraved decoration. One side has an engraved cartouche with the monogram J and S entwined with "Feast Of Saint Joseph" engraved around them. Hallmarked for London 1748. The makers initials are partly obscured by the embossing but I think they may well be that of Philip Shaw.

It measures 12cm (4 3/4") high, 16cm (6 1/4") wide across the handles and 9.5cm (3 3/4") rim to rim. It weighs 295g/9.5ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs and light surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
