This is a beautifully modelled bronze of a partially clothed man sitting on a simple bench with an animal skin draped over the top, his bearded head resting on his right hand while his left hand holds a tablet with the words 'CYCLE ROMAIN' engraved on the surface. A cloth is draped over his legs and falls in folds to either side, beneath which sandaled feet protrude.

The attention to detail in the hair and musculature is of the highest standard. The artist's signature is cast in the side of the bench. It dates from the Late 19th Century.
