Egyptian silver (900) circular dish and cover with cast silver knop - diameter 13cm, 9 tall - 174g.

This is a beautifully crafted, Egyptian silver dish with domed cover. The rim of the bowl has delicate, bright-cut, chased decoration and beaded edge. There is matching decoration to the dome of the lid which is surmounted by a well-cast silver knop in the form of a bird (dove?) with open wings atop five leaves. The bottom of the dish and the inside of the cover carry Egyptian hallmarks for silver of 900 parts per 1000. The date letter is present but is slightly understruck, so beyond my Arabic to identify.

Excellent condition commensurate with age and use. There is one very small indentation to the bottom of the bowl just visible in the right light - there is light surface scratching to the inside and bottom of the bowl consistent with age and use.

I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise. I keep hardly any stock at home, if you want to buy something and need it urgently, I will usually do it the next day, but it may take me some time to respond if you need extra photographs and/or details about the piece that I do not have to hand, as I typically visit the antiques centre just once a week.
