Edwardian Pierced Silver Wine Bottle Coaster
An attractive, fine quality Edwardian silver bottle coaster with cast gadrooned rim, ornately pierced walls reserving a vacant circular cartouche and with a beaded rim above the foot. Fitted with a turned wooden base. Hallmarked for London 1905, makers Daniel & John Welby.
It measures 13cm (5 1/8") wide across the rim and 12.1cm (4 3/4") inside the base and 3.5cm (1 3/8") high. It weighs 153g in total with a separate silver weight of 107g / 3.4ozt.
In excellent condition with no damage or repairs and minimal handling wear to the silver. The wooden base has minor signs of wear. Also, unusually it is not attached to the frame, and doesn't appear ever to have been, so it is possibly a replacement but certainly made for the coaster and a perfect fit. It could clearly be permanently attached very easily should it be wished but it is much easier to clean etc. as it is and the silver inside is immaculate so I am leaving that decision to its future owner. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
