Well detailed cast bronze of an eagle perched on a charcoal black marble plinth, circa 1950.
The eagle is a cast bronze after the well recognised Archibald Thorburn (1860-1935).
The bronze could be further cleaned if you preferred, but currently it's cleaned and buffed to highlight those amazing talons and the pedestal mounted on the marble base.
You will notice the foundry mark and guarantee of J.B. Depossee Garanti Paris.
Good condition with no chips to the marble base or the bronze.
Measuring:
12 inches or 30.5cm high
5 inches or 12.5cm diameter base Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
