This is a charming Art Deco 835 Silver Travel Photo Frame. The frame is designed to hold two small photos each 2ins x 1.75ins visible size. The outside of the frame has engine turned decoration and the frame snaps shut to protect your pictures whilst travelling and can then be opened to have them on display in your hotel room or on your bedside table.

The frame was made around the 1920s/30s in 835 grade silver, most probably in Denmark, and has a makers' mark of M M either side of an orb, which may be that of M Mikkelsen, who was active in Viborg between 1906 and 1937.

Condition is good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear to the outside that you would expect with use and the passage of time. The thin perspex covers for the photos are clean and undamaged, the hinge is in good working order and the frame snaps shut securely. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

When closed, the frame is 5.3cm / 2.1ins across and 5.7cm / 2.2ins high. It weighs in at a respectable 31.7g / 1.1oz of solid silver.

The inside frame is stamped 835S for 835/1000 grade silver and has the M M either side of an orb makers' mark which may be that of M Mikkelsen.
