Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to present for sale this very pretty boxed three piece hallmarked Art Deco silver dressing table set comprising a hand mirror and two brushes. This set is unusual as it is complete (has its mirror and two brushes) and also with its original fitted box again not often the seen with vanity sets from this period.
The set has an engine turned stripe design with stylised Art Deco cartouche.

Diameter of mirror: 7.5 cm
Length of small brush: 11.5 cm

Condition report:

The vanity set is in very good overall condition with age related wear and surface scratches and some deep tarnish marks and the odd tiny pin prick sized dent. The mirror is in very good order and provides a clean reflection and the brushes are also in surprisingly good condition for their age as often these sets suffer significant wear.

The box is intact but quite worn in places, with some of the covering coming off at the back and round the sides of the box and some heavy wear on the edge of the box. However, the box is in full working order and holds the set securely. A nice feature of the box is that a section of the front of the box neatly folds up and down via a hinged mechanism, perhaps to help the user access the box easily. As explained earlier, it is quite unusual to have the box together with the vanity set.
