Sterling silver compact mirror S J Rose & Son GUILLOCHE compact monogram
This sterling silver compact is suitable for use as a handbag mirror.
A high quality fully hallmarked sterling silver powder compact in excellent condition made by S J Rose & Son. It was assayed at London in 1956. The lid, sides & base have very stylish guilloche engraving which mark this piece out as an item of quality. The oblong cartouche is engraved with the initials 'A A R'. Push the hallmarked thumb catch & the spring loaded catch ensures that the compact glides open. The excellent mirror is framed by a sterling silver bezel & gives an accurate reflection. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The powder well has a cream enamel layer to protect the silver from damage.
Measures almost 3 x 3 inches. Weighs 91.5 grams.
