This is an antique embossed fire screen. An English, oak and leather fireside guard in Arts and Crafts taste, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Strikingly unusual and of superb craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Wavy oak frame shows fine grain interest and deep russet hues
Press stud borders unite the dark tanned leather with the frame
Incredible embossed leather screen a testament to the craftsman's skill
Depicting a forest hunting scene, a hunting dog chases a galloping stag through a glade
Graced with copious fine detail, the reverse shows light caramel hues and natural leather grain
Raised upon a pair of trestle feet with block toes
