A 19th century sterling silver oval box and cover. The box lid depicts the biblical narrative of Abraham and the sacrifice on the Mount of his son Isaac on the instruction of God. Abraham is later visited by an Angel to halt the sacrifice. The box is beautifully decorated on all sides with exceptional and elaborate detail to the base showing scenes of rural life in the 19th century. In amongst the scenes are hidden images including a heraldic lion and a key. The box is marked for Samuel Boyce ( Boaz ) Landeck S.B.L Sheffield 1896.

Dimensions = 5cm x 7cm.
