History of Charles Horner and sons
Charles Horner (1837-1896) established his antique jewellery business around 1860 under the name 'Charles Horner of Halifax' and sold hatpins, thimbles and brooches, as well as Art Nouveau pendants and necklaces. After his death, Charles Horner's sons James Dobson Horner and Charles Henry Horner took over this business with William Leach. The next generation added antique clocks and silver tableware to their inventory of pieces, the business eventually closed in 1984. These lovely napkin rings descend from when the sons managed to business and still have the style and sophistication evident in their father's work.
