Georgian Style Silver Salt Cellar Nathan & Hayes
Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to present for sale this superb quality Edwardian period handmade silver salt cellar by Nathan & Hayes. This salt cellar has its original Bristol blue glass liner and an Edwardian double struck king pattern salt spoon by William Hutton & Sons which is free of any personalisation ( no monograms or initials evident) .
This superb quality salt cellar is in the George III style and is similar to Adams style examples produced during the 1780s & 90s, it sits on four ball & claw feet and has a hand pierced oval body with hand engraved decoration, embellished with a round vacant cartouche.
A highly displayable and attractive piece of antique silver tableware, which would make a sustainable gift or addition to any quality silverware collection. This impressive salt cellar can be used for entertaining at dinner parties and luncheons, as well as at hotels and in restaurants.

Assay Office: Likely to be Birmingham, hallmarks poorly struck, assay office mark is not visible, if not Birmingham a London example of similar age.
Date letter: 1903 if Birmingham, 1899 if London (letter d in lower case)
Dimensions & Weight of salt cellar:
Weight: 63 grams excluding liner
Length: 8 cm
