We have the pleasure of being able to offer this lovely George III solid sterling silver sauce ladle by the important silversmiths William Eley, William Fearn and William Chawner.

The ladle is of a heavy gauge silver and is in the Old English pattern consisting of a deep bowl extending up to a lovely elegant unengraved handle. The ladle carries good clear hallmarks for London 1810 along with good clear but very slightly rubbed makers marks William Eley, William Fearn and William Chawner. The Chawner family were major silversmiths in the early 19th century, rivaling the Bateman family in the production of fine heavy grade silver flatware. The company was of course eventually owned by George Adams .

The ladle is approximately 7 inches (17.8cm) long and weighs approximately 62.5g. It is in a very good antique condition with no damage and no repairs, although it does carry the light surface scratching one would expect in 203 year old piece.
