William IV Silver Castle Top Vinaigrette
Lovely William IV silver "castle top" vinaigrette with a scene of Newstead Abbey. The other sides have a geometric engine engraved pattern and reverse has vacant cartouche. The edges have an ornate cast border of foliate design. Original gilt interior reveals a finely detail and pretty pierced and engraved hinged grill with flowers and swirling leaves. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1836, makers Taylor & Perry.
It measures 4.5cm (1 3/4") wide, 2.1cm (1 1/8") high and 0.9cm (3/8") deep. Condition is excellent with no damage or dents and very light surface wear. There are 2 small holes that have been drilled and plugged just below the grille hinge which probably indicate that the hinge has been re-pinned and the work was to aid access but the work has clearly be done by a professional, is very small and the hinge show no signs of issue. The main hinge is also fine and the box closes well. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
