Vintage Locking Spirit Tantalus, English
This is a vintage locking spirit Tantalus. An English, mahogany two decanter stand with hallmarked silver label and collar, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1990.
Useful and attractive tantalus with fine decorative appeal
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Mahogany case shows fine grain interest with superb caramel hues
Cut glass decanters presented in very good original order - free of marks
Decanters held securely beneath an articulated top plate with inset handle
Circular, working lock secures access to the decanters — key present
Base arranged into two, square compartments dressed with green baize
Standing upon a tiered plinth base, with attractive bracing in the Gothic revival taste
Pair of superb decanters with cut glass decorative finish and eye-catching faceted stoppers
Silver decanter collars hallmarked with date letter 'S' for 1992
Whiskey decanter label in sterling silver with date letter 'E' for 1979
