Victorian Silver Preserve Spoons Martin Hall & Co
We are pleased to present for sale these beautiful and fine quality pair of boxed Victorian twist pattern silver preserve spoons. These spoons have elegant detailing and are of exquisite quality.
Maker: Martin Hall & Co
Assay Mark: Sheffield
Year: one spoon is 1894 and the other is 1895
Weight: both weigh 22 grams (approx as scales can differ)
Height: 14cm
Width of bowl at widest point: 3cm
Condition report: In overall very good condition for their over 100 year age, however, there are some surface scratches on both spoons. On one of the spoons has a dink in the middle and a knock to the side of the bowl. The box does not appear to be original however, it is of the same period and in reasonable condition.
The pair of spoons have stunning patterns on the handle and an ornate border round the bowls. These spoons were made by renowned silversmiths, Martin Hall & Co, who were founded in 1854 and even exhibited at the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition of 1851. These spoons are well made, beautifully designed and aesthetic pleasing and thus a stunning addition to your sterling silver flatware collection.
