Victorian Silver Card Case Nathaniel Mills
Very nice Victorian silver card case by Nathaniel Mills. Ornate shaped edge and very fine engraved decoration both sides, with a main reserve of a coastal scene of sailing boats and a small coastal village. Scrolls and arabesques mark out shaped panels each side, each one with a different machine engraved finely detailed pattern and the reverse side has a central engraved image of a vase of flowers. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1848.
It measures 10cm (3 7/8") tall, 7cm (2 3/4") wide and 1cm (3/8") deep and weighs 69g/2.2ozt. Condition is very good it was originally gilded and traces of the gilding remain down the sides. There is a very slight bruise to the edge of the bottom left corner, no other damage or repairs and very light surface wear. The engraved detail and hallmarks are lovely and crisp. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
