Sheffield 1896/7.
Maker: James Deakin & Sons, Sidney Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield.
Retailed by James Peters, 54 Church Street & 3 London Road, Liverpool.
Original Box.
Comprising butter knife, sugar tongs, preserve spoon and sifter spoon.
Each item carries full Sheffield hallmark including the maker's mark.
The sifter spoon is 1896 and the others are 1897.
Approximate dimensions: lengths - butterknife 137.5mm, preserve spoon 133.5mm, sifter spoon 112mm, tongs 89.5mm, silver weight 67 grams, total cased weight 238.5 grams.
There are surface marks associated with light use.
As you can see from the photos the case shows signs of its age but it is sound and has kept the set in great condition.
Rare to find the complete set and with the original box.
