ROYAL PHYSICIAN - PROVENANCE A TORTOISESHELL & SILVER DESK BLOTTER WITH PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION TO SIR MAURICE ANDERSON MVO CHESTER 1919

A solid silver tortoiseshell and leather presentation desk blotter, of rounded oblong form with silver turned handle applied to the side with a presentation plaque inscribed "With loving gratitude from all at St Marks Court to Sir Maurice Abbot Anderson, M V O",

Measures 12.5cm wide. Fully hallmarked and Assayed Chester 1919. Makers marks slightly rubbed.

Born in 1861 King Edward VII made Sir William Maurice Abbot Anderson, M.V.O., physician to the Royal household, and later to the young Princess Royal, and a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order. He died in 1938. He was also a famous naturalist.

The Blotter is in Mint Condition with no damage whatsoever. The hallmarks are for Chester 1919.
