A magnificent fully hallmarked high grade continental silver (.935) powder compact made in the 1940s. The lid & base have a stylish engine turned designs with vertical lines & engraved floral motifs. The whole piece is in very good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The original sifter is in place which means this compact can still be used as a powder compact. The mirror is good & gives a clear & accurate reflection. There are a couple of subtle marks on the very edge of the mirror glass which is no way detract from this lovely solid silver compact mirror. This charming solid silver vintage powder compact measures 9.7 cm & weighs 150 grams.
