A delightful sterling silver cased Victorian napkin ring. The silversmith was William M Hayes & it was assayed at Birmingham in 1899. This is such a pretty piece of history - in the original case & the napkin ring is inscribed 'DORIS MARY BURT' in a shield like cartouche & inside the ring 'Birthday gift from Father & Mother Aug 2nd 1902'. The little case is adorable too & in excellent condition with a gilt clasp & gilt border on the lid. The interior of the case lid is lined with white silk which has this printed on to it 'THOMAS ST Lloyd Payne & Amie MANCHESTER'. The base is lined with royal blue velvet.
The napkin ring is of standard size & weighs 26.2 grams.
