An impressive and rare large Silver Snuff Box made for 'The Hon.the Irish Society' and presented to Sir Alfred Newton.Bart.The lid is embossed with the full Coat of Arms for The Irish Society and engraved 'Sir Alfred Newton,Bart.Governor 1908.The interior is Gilt.There is a small 'ding' and very tiny split along bottom edge of Box (see photo) otherwise it is in very good condition.Dimensions are:-9.7cms x 8.7cms x 2.5cms. and it weighs 120 Grammes.The Irish Society and Sir Alfred Newton make VERY interesting reading and will enclose Printed Details with the Box. Full English Hallmarks for Chester 1907 by Stokes and Ireland Ltd. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
