Silver Mounted Victorian Perfume Bottle - 1887
A fabulous and most unusual English Victorian globe perfume or scent bottle. Made from a heavy piece of crystal the bottle is cut all-over is a series of triangular facets.
It is more petite than most globes and has the highly decorative pierced or reticulated sterling silver draping over the shoulders of the bottle. The collar and hinged lid is also sterling silver and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1887 together with the makers initials for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Once the lid is opened, the little glass stopper is revealed, well fitting, we have placed some cotton wool in the lid to protect while it travels to you.
Pretty as a picture and excellent condition. Approximately 2 3/4" in diameter x 3 1/2" tall.
