Silver Demitasse Spoons William Devenport 1919
Arthur Vandyk Antiques are proud to present for sale this fine quality set of solid silver George V period Albany pattern demitasse silver coffee spoons. The spoons come with their original box and are in excellent condition. These spoons are made by the renowned silversmith, William Devenport.
History of the Albany Pattern
This is a nineteenth century pattern and was first used around 1885. In the Francis Higgins catalogue, the pattern was called 'Queen Anne'. The Albany Pattern is a variation of the Onslow Pattern first seen in the eighteenth eighteenth century. The Albany Pattern was most popular between the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. Thus these spoons are from this era of the Albany Pattern's peak popularity: a beautiful pattern indeed with their elegant and stylish triangular tips. You could be the proud owner of this piece of design history.
