These fabulous antique forks have a wonderful story to tell. The forks themselves are made from sterling silver and are extremely old dating to 1793 with a full English hallmark for Sheffield 1793. During the late nineteenth century they clearly needed new handles a silversmith used these wonderful and highly decorative handles made from Mother of Pearl with exquisite sterling silver ferrules and terminals. These each have a design registration number dating them to 1890 which is when these handles would have been added.

At this time this custom made case would have been made as they fit perfectly and this type of case dates to the late nineteenth century rather than the late eighteenth century. Ready to use for cake, patries, fruit or desert what better way to eat with these historic pieces.

Excellent condition, each fork measuring 6 1/2" in length and the box measuring 7 1/2" x 6".
