Set 6 Victorian Parcel Gilt Silver Dessert Spoons
Superb fine and heavy set of 6 mid Victorian parcel gilt silver dessert spoons. The bowls are gilded and all with very fine and elaborate bright cut engraved decoration in the early aesthetic style, front and back, to both handles and bowls. The handle terminals all have vacant cartouches for engraving if desired. All are hallmarked identically for London 1869, makers John, Edward, Walter & John Barnard (Barnard & Sons Ltd.).
They measure 7 1/2" (19cm) long and 1 11/16" (4.2cm) wide across the bowl. They weigh a substantial 286g/9.2ozt. Condition is excellent a very little surface wear to the backs of the bowls as per age. The engraved details is crisp on all spoons as are the hallmarks and the gilding shows no signs of fading. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
