Sampson Mordan Scent Bottle, London 1889
For sale we have a beautifully simple and elegant silver scent bottle by Sampson Mordan
This heavy gauge silver scent bottle is of a simple round form with a perfectly fitting screw on lid. The flask is undecorated other than having an inscriptions on the front "From (what lloks like ) PA to (what looks like0 LM 1894".
The scent bottle/flask is fully hallmarked for London 1889 and triple signed SM for Sapmson Mordan, once on the main body of the front, and twice, (neck and main body) on the back.
The scent bottle is approximately 2 inches (5cms) in diameter and weighs approximately 34.8g. The scent bottleis in a lovely antique condition, but the lid does carry a few small nibbles and there is a small indentation to the left hand edge of the reverse of the flask (see picture 3).
