Antique solid silver Dunhill cigarette case

This case is the most superbly made fully hallmarked sterling silver authentic Art Deco Dunhill cigarette case. This luxury accessory has a sleek stylish bold linear design on the lid and base. The case has a rare opening and closing mechanism & the patent number for this is inscribed on the case - 'PAT. NO. 375532'. Both the lid and base are hallmarked. This impressive cigarette case was assayed in London 1937. The vermeil interior has this charming inscription 'à Tiger Lily, Affectueusement de tous deux, Rudi et Lou - Xmas 1942' which translates as
'To Tiger Lily , affectionately from us both Rudi and Lou - Xmas 1942'. You can just imagine the fashionable and privileged set they came from. The case is in very good condition. All clasps and hinges work perfectly.

The antique silver case measures 13 cm X almost 8.8 cm & weighs 189.3 grams.

As you can tell from the dimensions this case will hold the largest cigarette and business cards.
