Here we have sale a fine pair of early 19th Century Regency period (late George III) hallmarked silver large serving or tablespoons in the ever popular fiddle pattern, the handle with an elegantly engraved period monogram.

Condition report: In overall very good condition for their two hundred year age, there are age related surface scratches to the bowls some of which are slightly more prominent, which I have tried to capture in the photos, but this sort of wear is normal considering their age. One spoon has a slight distortion within the bowl, which is hard to capture within the photos, this has created a small rippling effect within the bowl and slightly affected the shape of the outer bowl on the exterior creating a slight flattening of the silver. The sides and end of the bowls on both spoons still have a refined and sharp shape, which shows they are in good condition and have been well looked after - worse examples the edges would be blunt, but this isn't the case for these spoons a fine example indeed!

These splendid pair of Regency spoons would make an excellent Christmas or Birthday present or a treat for yourself over lock-down. The fact that these spoons are a pair and are in such fine condition and have the iconic fiddle pattern make them rare, collectable and just delightful antiques to own and treasure.
