Pair of Cased Zeiss Jena Feldstecher Binoculars
This early pair of Zeiss binoculars are retained within what looks to be their original black leather case. The binoculars have 'Zeiss Jena D.R.P' in script on the left prism plate and 'Feldstecher Vergr. 6' in script on the right prism plate. They have the serial number 3650 stamped into the bottom edge of the right hinge plate. The binoculars are in good working order and can be focussed. They retain their leather strap. We believe them to date from c.1900-1910.
Condition: Overall in good condition, but with some significant wear consistent with age and use. They have some surface wear, scratching and pitting which is heavy in places. The leatherwork has some wear. The lenses would benefit from a careful clean. The lined case has some scuffing, scratching and wear and is missing its carrying strap. The buckle strap and the top edge of the base of the case have some significant cracking and wear. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
